The square on the upper terrace of the modern Stryi Park was the site of the General Regional Exhibition in 1894 and the Eastern Bazaar in the interwar period. More information on Lviv Interactive.
In 1905, the consulate was located at Sykstuska Street 46 (now Doroshenka Street). Today, the building does not exist - it was destroyed as a result of the bombing of Lviv by Nazi Germany in 1941.
It was built in 1851-1864 for the Ruthenian community of Lviv. The cornerstone was laid by Emperor Franz Joseph during his visit in 1851. Read more about the architecture and history of the building on Lviv Interactive.
